Burn

Looking to the mirror for a grade
Looking to others to see how I measure up
Thinking about old mistakes I've made
And why I don't feel like I'm quite enough

But You, see the me inside, and You've loved me through it all
I'm Your creation and Your child
And I am made to worship you, with everything that I do
I want to serve you with all that I am.

CHORUS
Burn, Burn....Burn away the lies with the passion in Your eyes
You see me as I am, and You look on me with love.
Light, Light...Light my heart on fire, and help me lift You higher
Let me know Your endless love.

Verses
All around us are pictures and promises false and failing
Empty lies that just won't satisfy
But in Your word there is the truth and I'll delight myself in You
In Your spirit I'm alive.

People will sometimes let us down that's how it is here on the ground
but by Your grace Lord Yours are changing
You know what You've made us to be, so help us with Your eyes to see
each other as new and true, though our lives You're still rearranging

CHORUS
Burn, Burn....Burn away the lies, with the passion in Your eyes
You see us as we are, and You look on us with love.
Light, Light...Light our hearts on fire, and help us to lift you higher
Let us know Your endless love.

BRIDGE
Earthly things will fade away, but what You've done Lord will remain.
Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!
You've made me new and I am clean in Jesus Christ who has died for me.
Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!

Earthly things will fade away, but what You've done Lord will remain.
Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!
You've made Yours new and we are clean in Jesus Christ who sets us free.
Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!

2 Cor 5:16-17
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

1 John 4:16
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 2:15a
Do not love the world or the things in the world.

Ps 63:3-5
Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips

Is 40: 6b-8 A voice says, "Cry!" And I said, "What shall I cry?" All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Eccl 3:14
I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life

I don't know about ya'll, but I have struggled with comparing myself to others and judging myself by the standards of the world in various areas of life.  I've thought..."if only ....." then I would be happy, but the truth is that I find joy in Christ, and in realizing that God loves me so much that he sent someone to die to be my propitiation (redemptive substitute- bought me back by taking my place for what I had done wrong) and that I am forgiven and get to have eternal life.  His word will stand forever.

It is cool that God has made me a new person, just like all those who by the gift of faith in Jesus Christ are His children, and that He sees us and calls us to see each other as such, though we are still works in progress.  As New Year's Eve rolls around, may we all see ourselves as He does, and see each other likewise.  My prayer for myself is that the fire and passion of God's love will "burn" out any of the lies that keep me from doing that and seeing Him as He is.

If you don't know that you are a new creation, please ask God about that, look in His Bible, and ask people who read, believe and do what the Bible says to and are full of love.  Feel free to ask me as well (I hope and like to think I am in the last category).

: ) a Joyful New Year to all!

Thusfar Untitled

I feel like I'm in a corner;
I'm feeling somewhat desperate, but You, You are with me still.
Adrift in  a sea of answers to the same old familiar questions
When all I want is your will.

You have never left me.  You will never leave me, and
wisdom You are faithful to provide.
You are a God of action.  I wait on Your compassion that is
sure as the dawn and faithful as the tide.

CHORUS
You are able to save!
You are able to heal!
You are able to lift me out of this!
You've delivered before, and
You'll save me again, and I will rejoice in faith because of this!

Your Spirit that's strong and mighty, is within, around, beside me; I'm safe, and my life's in Your hands.
It's not just a pithy saying, there's a reason to You I'm praying, for everything is under Your command!

In Christ You hear each whisper, each word, each sigh I've ever uttered.
You're next to me when I laugh and when I cry.
So, I'll not fear the future for Your love and mercy follow, and Your word and Son are my light and my guide.

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hosanna to the King!
Praise You Yahweh, Praise You Yahweh!  Have mercy LORD of everything!

Backstory:
This song is inspired by this cool teaching on communicating with God that I listened to on P4CM.com (really enjoyed it, it is here http://www.p4cm.com/video/how-communicate-god-pt-1).  Something that really touched me was how the Psalms talk to God honestly and then bring praise to Him and rejoice in His character at any time.

This afternoon and for a while I have been somewhat confused regarding some health stuff that is bothersome.  To add to this my temp job ended yesterday and I'm not sure which way to go, so out of said issues I expressed towards God the general feeling of, "Good grief, I am really sick of this and confused and do not know what is or should be next" and then sang to Him about who He was, what He's done, and how He is good and able and faithful to save.  Even if I do not know what to do, I do know the One with the answers:).

Here are some verses I was thinking of that inspired or go particularly well with the song.  They are in ESV translation.

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Ps 121:2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Ps 139:3-5  You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Ps 103:2-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Hopefully this is encouraging to anyone who's been confused, frustrated, or needs God to step in (all of us!).

Blessings to you!

Why do I run?

Why do I run from the One who can save me?
Is there a part of my heart that is crazy?
Why do I run from the One who can save me?

Why do I turn from the face of Your love, Lord?
It's an error I do not want to afford.
Why do I turn from the face of Your love, Lord?

CHORUS
By Your grace, Lord, draw me to Your heart.
By Your love, You reel me in.
In Your gentle way, turn my face to You
That I can see You once again.

Why do I hide in the times I most need You?
Why do I avoid with busy things I do to "please" You?
Why do I hide in the times I most need You?

Why do I turn from Your love that is holy?
You are the source, the life, You and You only.
Why do I turn from Your love that is holy?

CHORUS

You are so beautiful, I can barely stand it,
and You fiercely love me, it's hard to understand it
Why am I skittish to be with You, know You
to see You and read with You
To share what I need with You?  You love me.
And You love to hear my voice. You love me.
And You want to see my face.  You love me.

So I will lift my voice to You.
I will turn my face to You.
I will lift my heart to You.
I will open my life to You.

I will lift my dreams to You
and I will put my hope in You
I will sing my love for You
cuz You love me.  Yes, You love me!

F6, C, G Am/ Am, C, G
capo optional with same shapes

So, this song is about how sometimes I feel somewhat skittish about spending time with God, for no apparent reason.  I find all kinds of useful and beneficial things to do, all the while thinking in the back of my head and knowing that I am somewhat avoiding the Bible, worship, and praying earnestly and honestly to God.

I am not sure if it is because I am overwhelmed by His beauty, or if I am afraid to ask for help or share my heart openly in prayer.  In any case, in Song of Solomon aka Song of Songs v 2:4  it says

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. "

elsewhere in the Song of Solomon the bride is said to have doves eyes, which I have heard means true and unwavering (doves would fly long long distances to be with only their mates, and are monogamous, as far as I know.

As a part of the church who is the bride of Christ, the Lord sees my face as sweet (in Christ, of course) and hears my voice of praise, prayer, thanksgiving, and the outpouring of my cares and hearts as lovely.  He wants me to lift up my eyes to and put my hope in him.

1 John 3:3
And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
Ps 123:1
To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!
Ps 121:1
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
No matter what my (or your) circumstances, we can, through the way of Jesus Christ, share our hearts, needs, praises and prayers with God.  He wants to hear us, He wants us to look for Him for help, salvation, and deliverance, He wants us to put our hope in him.

Blessings!

* The line open my life to You does not imply that one can close off their life from God, being as in Him we live and move and have our being.  It meant to me that I would deliberately allow and ask God to be in control by making space for Him in my thoughts, activities, and priorities, being ready and willing to follow His leading, and by not holding to the false idea that I am in control.  So it is more of a realigning my heart with reality and asking God to take residence in my life.

Life with God

My future is uncertain as far as the world's concerned,
But I have an anchor that never fails.
My hope is not in this life or in things I can touch or see,
But I'm walking towards a city that's promised for eternity.

Oooo, this is not my home.
Oooo, I'm a traveller on the road.

My heart it is yearning for rest and sweet repose
That I have in Christ in part, but someday will know fully.
So I'll walk arm in arm with my family down the road
The narrow path, the highway of the holy.

Oooo, this is not our home.
Oooo, we are travelers on the road.

The Bible will be our road map and the Spirit our trusted guide
Jesus our faithful shepherd, God the Father watching o'er us from on ihgh
As we walk towards the place that's prepared for us we will never walk on alone,
And nothing can separate us from God's love or stop us from reaching home

Oooo, heaven is our home.
Oooo, God will lead us down the road, to our home.

verses EmAm riff, chorus CGDAm, last verse CGD....

This song is about how the hope and stay of my life is the eternal life that God has promised in heaven, which will be an even fuller and complete revelation of the life that I have with Him here.  When I mention walking down the road with my family I mean my church family.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:12

But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11:16

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Is 35:10
(Christians have been ransomed with Jesus' blood so we can go to heaven)
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering Hebrews 12:22

For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Rev 7:17

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Rev 21:4

*This is my personal testimony based on my personal beliefs (which I believe are shared by most Bible believing Christians) and some cool verses that seem to go with the song.

Trust Your Heart

Such gentleness
Such consideration of my brokenness
Your patience inspires my confidence
In the compisition of your heart.

When I'm a mess
You don't turn away in great distress
But you draw near with tenderness
To life me up and wash me clean again

CHORUS
I can trust Your heart
I can trust that You are for me
I can trust Your heart
and that You have good plans for me

When I'm antsy 'cuz I'm not "there" yet
Help me on Your face my vision set
That the glory shone would help me get
Closer to the wonder that You are

Let my heart be true
and focused first on pleasing You
Help me acknowledge You in all I do
and straight You'll make my Paths

CHORUS

BRIDGE
What a great God, so worthy of all I have
Help me to seek you, know you, be in you
Your love causes me to live

GDEmC, Bridge AmCGD AmCEm, DD7D - strum pattern 2 verses and bridge, on chorus still figuring it out

The love that God has for us as mentioned in the first two stanzas can be mirrored in relationships between believers in real life.  It is a pretty thought.  Happy day to any who read!

1 Cor 13:4a, 7 Love is patient and kind...Love bears all, things believes all things, endures all things.
2 Cor 2:5-8
Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure - not to put it too severely - to all of you. 6 For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, 7 so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8 So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him.
Eccl 4:9-10a Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.

Joy in the Uncertainties

A Em G A
Bridge C G A+ A (A + is the 3 fingers on fret two up one position from a normal A chord)

I will take joy in the uncertainties of life
for on Christ the solid rock I will stand.
My peace does not depend on the circumestances surrounding me
But only on the blood of the Lamb.

The future ahead is a mystery to me
though some things God has revealed.
I will look forward to when Jesus' face I'll see,
and faith in God will be my mighty shiled.

There's no pretending that I'm free of all sins yet
though many trials and vices fall away
I'll hope in Jesus and know God's not done just yet,
but I'll be like Him when I see Him on that day.

BRIDGE
Things change, seasons come and go, but God always remains the same.
I love Him and He loves me so.  I'll take shelter from life's storms in His strong Name.

So I'll hope in God He will be my saving pow'r,
and life with Him my inheritance.
Before His face I'll see in that final holy hour
I'll trust my future's not left up to chance.

This song was written while waiting for a future job in, I believe October of 2010 or 2009.  I have been an administrative temp, and that has led to a lot of positional uncertainty.  However, I am sure and covered in Christ!  A note, when I say that "I will be like Him when I see Him on that day" I mean that when I get to heaven, I will behold the glory of Christ my Lord and my character will be as His.  I will also have a resurrected body of His nature.  I believe that is Scripturally supported (in the Bible).

Ps 107 in my life

F6, C, G, D, Am, C, G--/ Brige- Am C G

I didn't know, my eyes were blinded to You, I was walking in the world's ways
But disaster brought me to You.  Stuck in fear, sin, hate, depression, I called out Your name, and You put Your spirit in me now I'll never be the same

Thank you, Thank you, You have done such wondrous deeds
You've brought me from death to life, now I'm called by Your name, I will
Call out and sing to You my loving Savior God, for Your love, goes on and on and on.

CHORUS:
Your steadfast love endures forever, wondrous are the things You've done for me!  Your steadfast love endures forever! I praise You, You're the God who sets us free!

I was wandering, not sure of my own place.  Hungry for Your mercy, and hungry for Your grace.  You sent me, and You planted me in love and fellowship, shored me up, I need not slip, and I will thank You Holy God

Thank you, Thank you, You have done such wondrous deeds
Brought me from isolation to my loving family, I will,
Call out and sing to You my loving Savior God, for Your love, goes on and on and on.

CHORUS

I was trapped, in addiction and in pain, but despite my human straining I could not free myself. And then You came, when I cried You sent Your spirit, when I walked according to it, Your love set me free.

Thank you, Thank you, You have done such wondrous deeds
Let me loose from darkness and my own captivity, I will
Call out and sing to You my loving Savior God, for Your love, goes on and on and on.

CHORUS

I was a fool, through my own sinful ways
I had turned and gone astray, and was suffering for sin
But I called to You, and you sent Your word and healed me
By your grace You have delivered and I'm safe

Thank you, Thank you, You have done such wondrous deeds
Lifted me from my shame and gently set me on my knees to
Call out and sing to You my loving Savior God, for Your love, goes on and on and on.

BRIDGE:
You make things flourish and alive, let there be a garden in my life of Your fruit.  Please help me to be wise, and think on the love of You.

Your Mercy Never Fails

Your mercy never fails, and Your love it goes on and on and on and on.
Your mercy never fails, and it never will.

As I'm walking through this life, not dependent on myself but on Your grace and on Your love
My hope is firmer than before, for You are steadfast and You're sure and Your faithfulness has no end

Not by what I do but by faith through the grace that You’ve given me, that You give for free, I’m saved
My hope will rest in You, it’s the blood of Christ that brings me through the veil, and You will not fail me, no not ever.
BRIDGE:  Oh, when the storm goes on around me, above the noise I hear Your still small voice, saying You are with me.  And though the fire of testing burns away, the gold of faith in You will be refined and beautiful.  For Your mercy and love bring me through!
GDAmC, Bridge DAmCG with hold on D for last line

This song is about God's compassion and mercy, towards me, towards all His children, towards all people in that He gives life and breath, food and sunshine, etc, and the chance to know Him.  His mercy is over us and in His mercy He sent Jesus to bear our shame and sin on the cross.  His mercy helps me as I am still making mistakes as His child, but growing toward His likeness as I behold the character of God.  His mercy protects me. I can trust in His unfailing love, even in times of trouble or testing, for God has promised never to leave nor forsake in His word.  His mercy is also extended to all freely.

Isa 55:1 -"Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Jesus said

Joh 6:37 - All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

(bolded sections, mine)

Lest I give someone the wrong idea I shall include Romans 2:4: Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Forbearance = patience in witholding punishment due
Repentance=change of heart and action with respect to sin vs. belief and following God.

The reference to the veil is talking about something that happened when Jesus died to the veil in the temple in Jerusalem.  There was a place called the Holy of Holies, where people dare not go, except for a priest, once a year only with blood to atone for sins (I think atone means to make the payment for/make up for/etc).

When Jesus died His blood atoned/paid for our sins, so there was no longer a separation necessary between us and God the Father.  During the earthquake after His death the veil was torn in two, symbolic of the access that we can now have to the Father through the blood of Jesus that has paid the price for our sins and made us legally right with God.  We had to be made legally right b/c God is a just God, and He would not be good if He did not punish our sins.  However, we could not and cannot pay our penalty or get out of trouble on our own, so He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, to pay the price and get us back.  What a good God.

Disclaimer: I am not a Bible teacher, but this is what I feel and believe, so if you have questions please ask someone who reads the Bible and is qualified to teach.  If you believe in Jesus and there seems to be anything in what I say that is doctrinally correct, please let me know so that I can check it out and fix it if necessary.

Your beauty, it calls

There are echoes of eternity in the sunset
whispers of forever in the sky.
There are harbingers of holiness in the way the trees and branches are set
and clues to Your compassion when we cry.

CHORUS:
Your beauty, it calls.  It calls to me.  I want to know You.
Your glory is all...all around me.  I want to know you.  Your beauty it calls.

The colors in the sky and the clouds that are blowing by speak of Your majesty
The creatures of the Earth: the plants the flowers and the birds show You are wise!
A movement made with grace or a smile on a face show Your works are wondrous.  You have made us wondrous.
I can hear Your awesome pow'r, in an evening summer shower, when it is thunderous.

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
It calls:  "Seek.  I am not far, and I want you to know and see and find and your love for Me to grow, your love for me to grow."  It calls: "Look and open up your eyes to My Name that's written in the skies, and join the praise creation sings.  I'm a good and holy and righteous king."

Final stanza:
Your beauty, it calls.  It calls to me, and it says "I love you."

You are with me Always

C, Em, Am F

You walk with me through the fire
You shelter me in the rain
The floods will not overwhelm
When I call upon Your name

Your blood it covers my failure
Your glory covers my shame
Your love fills me with hope
And I'll never be the same

Chorus
You are with me always, and I will not be afraid
You are with me always, and I will call upon your name

Your spirit is my salvation
Your presence is my delight
You are the wind under my wings and the author of the flight

You hide me in Your pavilion
That's inlaid with Your love
When the world is chaotic around me
I can have the peace that's from above

Bridge
G Am C  repeat, last time G, F6
You are my Savior, I need not be afraid,
You know the contents of the days You've made for me
All things you'll work together for my good
I want to live everyday in Your hood!

This song was written the eve before going to work during a pretty stressful time as I was somewhat fearful, but need not be in the Lord.  I know He is alsways with me.  Yes...the rhyme in the bridge is somewhat corny.  That is ok with me.  Still working on the chords for the bridge.  I shall stand firm in Christ.

Jesus Reigns!

I will stand upon salvation, walking hand in hand with Jesus.
I will stand upon salvation for He reigns, for He reigns!

It is finished He has done it: Death is beaten, He is risen!
All God's children never perish, Jesus reigns Jesus reigns

All the pow’rs of hell defeated, they can’t stand before his power
He will save and will deliver, Jesus reigns! Jesus reigns!

We’re His friends and were His family, chosen, precious, loved, forgiven.
None can tear us from His love for Jesus reigns! Jesus reigns!

la la la la la la la la la la la la (interspersed amongst/between the verses)

4x We are Yours.

Repeat vs. 1.

This song is based on the fact that Jesus rules over everything and he likes and loves us.  Yes, it is exceedingly sweet.  He has given all who will come to him, believe in him, repent (change our mind and ways regarding what He calls sin), ask forgiveness, and make Him the Lord of our lives the right to be His children (we can do this only b/c He helps us to, He gives us faith as a gift, not as something we deserve).  The part where it says that death is beaten He is risen is meant to refer to when He was crucified and bore all the penalty of our sins upon His shoulders, and actually died and was dead.  However, He rose from the dead on the third day and still lives and has authority over all things from heaven.  The part where it says that His children never perish does not mean that we will not die in an earthly sense, it means that our souls will be in fellowship with Him when we die, and when He comes back to earth we will rise with glorified bodies and serve and praise our Him forever that way.  To deliver means to save.  Jesus came to heal physically and to release people from the bondage of sin, death, and the power of the devil.  I believe He still does that as well through members of His church and the Holy Spirit.  What a wonderful God to serve.

This is my personal testimony of what I believe.  I do not claim to be a Bible teacher.  If you have further questions, please ask God, Christians who believe in the Bible (me included), and read the Bible for yourself as well (the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are a good place to start).

The Lord is my Shepherd

Here are the circumstances surrounding this song.  This past Friday I found out that my job will not become permanent.  I have also struggled with feeling somewhat junky lately physically (my symptoms do not seem serious, but they are bothersome and annoying), and have realized that, though I am a Christian, there is a part of me that still fears death, or at least dying younger than seems nice.  However, Christ and His blood have bought me, He is the mighty healer and is faithful to save, faith in Him and His spirit within assure me of eternal life, and I know that He will take care of me and be my faithful shepherd with employment and financially, just as he has in the past.  Here are the lyrics:

Through valleys, oer mountains He's led me
and He's never left me alone
When the future seems dark or uncertain
I need not fear the unknown

CHORUS
3x The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
The Lord is my healer, He will deliver, He'll lead me to pasture
and I shall not want.

Through many mistakes I have stumbled
But His grace and His love lift me up
Now I'm learning to trust and believe in my King
'Cuz His love has always been enough

CHORUS

Bridge
Thank you for this path you have led me upon
For I'm learning Your ways, I'm learning Your ways.
I'm seeing You more and I'm getting to know Your Beautiful Glorious face
Though fears may assail I am safe 'neath the veil of Your love
And when this life is done I know You'll bring me home up above.

2x
You are my Shepherd!  You are my Shepherd!  Yes, You are my Shepherd!
and I shall not want.
You are my healer, and You will me, deliver.  You'll lead me to pasture,
and I shall not want.

You love me for me

CHORUS
You love me for me and not what I do.
It is that love that draws me to you.
It's not what I bring, it's for me You sing
You want me for me.

Sometimes I run from you, I'm in hiding
Aware of lifes cares and not in peace abiding
You gently and patiently sit by my side
and when I cry out to my rescue you ride

CHORUS

I try to earn favor that's already mine
You call me chosen, a part of Your bride.
Not for what I've done but by Your mercy in Christ I'm Yours

CHORUS

BRIDGE
The world's ways are not Yours, You are much higher

Your Love

If your love is an ocean, catch me in a wave
Wash me clean with your word, show me you're mighty to save
Let me flow with your tide, O God teach me your ways.

If your love is a fire, then I want to burn
a flame of passion for Jesus, whose ways I will learn
let my heart be ablaze for  his glory and praise.

Chorus
O Your Love, Your Love it is strong O God
Its power cannot be defeated.
When life's like a seige and I'm down on my knees,
Your love is what I need.  Your love.

If your love's like a mountain, then I want to climb
I'll hide myself in the rock, now His righteousness mine
Makes me set apart, by your favor divine

Bridge?
Your love it is patient, rejoices in truth
Humble, yielding, persistent, forgiving and good
Full of hope trust belief, everlasting and kind.

Clearly

CHORUS:
I want to see You clearly.
I want to see Your face.
I want to draw near Your heart
and rest in your embrace.
I want to know Your power.
I want to know Your love.
I want to see You clearly.

The fog of life, those extra trappings,
the business, they all distract from You.
You're always there, in every happening.
O God, please help me see what You'd have me do.

CHORUS

I want to see Your mercy.
I want to see Your grace.
I want to feel Your joy in those a runnin' in the race.
I want to know Your fire.
I want to know Your truth.
I want to see You clearly.

A broken world full of confusion could paint a picture not of Your design.
I don't want lies, I want Your image and Your character emblazoned in my mind.

CHORUS

I want to see Your heart break; Your passion for the lost.
I want to be like You and say "that one is worth the cost"
Let me know your compassion and your forgiving heart.
I want to see You clearly.

BRIDGE:
Help me renew my mind, keep Your word and be purified that I can see Your life  I want to see You clearly!

Patience

Lord, you love me too much to hurry
Though I'd try to rush you along
Lord, you know the path when I've worried
I see a note, but you see the song

When I cry out for you to relieve me
Of the path that my life just might take
Hand in hand you patiently lead me
THrough a trial that will strengthen my fiath

Lord, you love me too much to hurry
For to you, my heart's worth the time
Patience, kindness, and mercy will draw me
Through the trials that make me purified

You could use your power to scare me
But only a slave I'd have been
By your steadfast love you have caught me
As a servant, a child, and a friend.

You want my heart.  You want my heart.
Not what I do, when to earn love I try to start.
You want my good more than my happiness;
so in your arms I'm safe at rest, for you love my heart.

Middle of Isaiah 30:15

Here is a song I wrote that is a response to my current unemployment, my feeling that I need to earn things from God, and a statement of truth and self encouragement in His goodness and mercy.

Middle or Isaiah 30:15
I need a job and will soon need some income to pay my bills.
But you’ve promised me that my storehouses you would fill.
What’s going on?  Am I failing or lost or did I make you mad?
But my heart speaks to me, that I can trust you, and that I can be glad.

CHORUS
Cuz’ you’re faithful, and you’re true.
When it’s judgment vs. mercy, it’s your mercy that triumphs and rules
This world and its ways, they will soon be past
And nothing can take me from your loving grasp
Not darkness, nor fear, nor the things that I do
Lord I know I’m a sinner, I’m coming to you.
2x Cuz’ you’re faithful

The doubts of my heart say do this or do that to earn your favor,
But Christ is my righteousness, Lord help me not to waver
I know by your grace I will do my part,
And even if I fail, Lord, you know my heart

CHORUS
BRIDGE
(REPEAT) In returning and rest I shall be saved, quietness and trust (in you) shall be my strength.
